Oggi si festeggia il capodanno nel mondo islamico. Questo spazio non vuol essere semplicemente un momento di convivialità per gli auguri a tutti i musulmani nel mondo, ma anche un accrescimento culturale nei confronti di colori i quali ignorano questa festività. Il Capodanno islamico cade il primo giorno del mese di Muharram … ma attenzione: il calendario islamico è lunare, dunque non è sincronizzato con le stagioni (non basandosi sul sole), ma solo con le fasi lunari. Tutto ebbe inizio nell’anno 1 del calendario islamico ricorda l’anno in cui il Profeta Maometto emigrò da La Mecca a Medina: tale trasferimento è chiamato Egira. Il Profeta Maometto nacque 53 anni prima dell’Egira, ossia circa nel 570 d.C. a La Mecca e morì l’ 8 giugno 632 d.C. a Medina. Fondatore della religione islamica, egli ricevette il ministero profetico e di predicazione presso gli Arabi, per volere di Dio, attraverso un’apparizione dell’Arcangelo Gabriele: quasi 6 secoli prima, lo stesso Arcangelo Gabriele aveva annunciato la nascita di Gesù alla Madonna, come ricordato proprio l’8 dicembre nella festa cattolica dell’Immacolata Concezione. A tutti i fedeli musulmani, dunque, i miei più sinceri auguri per un anno di pace e felicità!
